All inspectors are not equal! Experience matters when selecting someone to inspect the most expensice purchase of your life. I have inspected over 22,000 homes over the past 29 years. No other inspector in the State of Illinois can make that claim!

Questions To Ask A Home Inspector (Before You Hire One!)

What are your qualifications?
Are you licensed by the State of Illinois? Illinois requires that all home inspectors be licensed by the state.
How long have you been in business and how many inspections has the inspector (the one that will actually be inspecting the house) performed?
Do you have a list of past clients I could contact?
Do you carry professional errors and omissions insurance? May I have a copy of your insurance certificate?
Are you a member of the National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI)?
What specifically will the inspection cover? Do you offer a free termite inspection? Do you offer other services, such as radon or mold testing?
What type of report will I receive? [There is no report standard. Some inspectors still use carbonless, handwritten forms that, if you can read your copy, it will probably not be readable by your attorney when the report is faxed to him/her.
How long will the inspection take and how long will it take to receive my inspection report?
What specifically will the inspection cover?
